I had some long overdue quality time with my big girl at the weekend. On one of our early evening walks, we happened upon this wall which had the most gorgeous red and green foliage growing on it. Needless to say, I couldn't just walk past such a grand wall without creating some images :)
A new addition to the family and a new direction
I know things have been a little quiet around here lately and with good reason. We got a puppy! A gorgeous, fluffy Tibetan Terrier named Riley. As you can probably imagine, he has kept us all busy. Not only do we have this new member in our family, but it is also one of the busiest times of year here at Sandra Jolly Photography.
Last week I had two friends visit me from the U.K. One of those friends is also a photographer and we got to talking about the highs and lows of running your own business. We talked about how, as creatives, we pour our heart and soul into our work. A whole lotta love and energy goes into each and every photo session. And when clients voice their appreciation of our work and our service, it reassures us we are on the right track, creatively and as a business. We also talked about the importance of doing something creative for ourselves. I was then inspired to pick up my camera and photograph my two lovely friends. When I showed them their portraits, they were both over the moon, and I was happy because they were happy. I am now inspired to create more of these portaits - timeless, natural portraits of teens, parents, grandparents, etc - everyone deserves to have a beautiful portrait of themselves. So, don't hesitate to get in touch and we can get the ball rolling :)
Angelic boys | Stockholm barnfotograf
When this family rocked up to their Jolly photo shoot, I was momentarily struck dumb. I mean, come on, have you ever seen such angelic looking boys?! Not only were they totally adorable to look at, but they had such sweet personalities, too! I didn't have to chase them or cajole them at all - result! And when their mom retrieved two cute hats for them, I was in photography heaven! :)

This photo session was the last shoot I did before I took my summer holidays and I'm only getting around to posting it now! Sometimes, being a photographer is a bit like being a dentist. Let me explain... When people are about to be photographed, they are often nervous, didn't have a good experience the last time they had their pictures taken (by someone else!) and are anxious about the results. The photographer (me in this case!), has to quickly put their client at ease and gain their trust, give them a great experience and hope they will come back again. Fortunately, this family and I were cracking jokes within minutes of me arriving at their home. Easy clients! I'm pretty sure they enjoyed their Jolly experience and will hopefully come back in the future ;)
