Bubbles, cupcakes and lots of fun | Täby children's photographer

When this sweet, gentle mom and her gregarious husband invited me into their beautiful home in Täby for a photo session, I had no idea it would be a game changer for me!  As much as I love classic portraits, I have a special place in my heart for documenting real family life.  Being able to photograph a family in the comfort of their own home as they bake, play and just enjoy each other is a beautiful way of preserving the moments that make up your life.  I can only hope more parents will choose this way of documenting their family.  I promise you, we will have a Jolly good time together!  Oh, and check out Grandma and her bubble machine! :)

Waiting. And waiting. And waiting.

I regularly crave a change of scenery.  Having grown up in a house in the middle of the beautiful Irish countryside, apartment/suburban living can leave me feeling very claustrophobic.  I long for open fields and quiet freedom.  The past few weeks I've been itching to go for a late evening (my favourite time to shoot) walk with the family.  Naturally, my camera always comes with me.  Yesterday we finally escaped the neighbourhood and found ourselves roaming a beautiful section of a national park.  It was one of those magical walks - perfect weather, perfect light and the girls were happy.  Let's just pretend the girls and I didn't get savaged by mosquitoes during the last 10 minutes of the walk.  When I turned the camera on my big girl, I got her serious expression. I can see she looks tired and is ready to go home.  It's a look all us parents recognise.

Gorgeous siblings in Ulriksdal | Stockholm children's photographer

This was my second time this year to photograph this gorgeous family.  Our previous shoot was in the winter (remember the picture of the beautiful twin girls running through the snow in their red coats?).  This time round, we decided on a late afternoon session at Ulriksdal Slött.  We had to reschedule to a morning shoot though due to a forecast of rain. It was really windy and quite chilly for May, but these three lovely siblings gave it their best and we moved as fast as we could to make sure everyone stayed warm.  Just as we were about to wrap up the shoot, the heavens opened and it rained heavily for the rest of the day.  Talk about lucky timing!   I know the mom has been eagerly awaiting this blog post, so I hope this makes you smile, Dalia :)

Skeppsholmen sibling session | Stockholm children's photographer

Actually their parents were part of this shoot, too, but as the mom wanted the main focus to be on the kids, I'm just including their pictures here :).  It was so windy at Skeppsholmen that day, it was just like being back in the west of Ireland!  We braved the gales though and the mom loved the results.  Another happy Jolly customer :)
