August highlights | Stockholm barnfotograf

I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer!  It's back to reality in the Jolly household this week, as the kids are back at school and we're back to work.  To be honest though, I worked for most of the summer (you gotta make hay while the sun shines!) and have taken a LOT of pictures.  Our big girl turned nine this month and so I thought I'd share her photograph highlights from August!

Imagine my delight when a regular client recently told me she loves the film noir look I've been creating in my latest black and white images, and would like to be do similar shots of her children in our portrait session this weekend! :)

Experimenting with light | Stockholm barnfotograf

My family and I recently spent a few days exploring mid and west Sweden.  In one of the hotels we stayed in, I decided to experiment with the light to see if I could create a really dramatic portrait. Below is the result.  Do I care that it's not a 'typical' child portrait?  Absolutely not!  I love that it's dark, expressive and moody.  You have to believe in your own vision, then wait for the magic to happen.
